Echt vet, respect 2 you! Ik ben sinds geboorte van mjin lieve dochtertje wat minder met retrogaming en gaming bezig geweest maar ik merk dat mijn kleine meid er wel intresse in heb zoals ik dat als klein ukkie ook had. Elke avond wil ze toch wel ff dat pappa super mario bros 1 speelt op de NES, omdat ie zo geinig springt hahaha. Maar dit is ff offtopic. Ik volg je project op de voet, echt heel stoer. Als het af is, ben ik toch wel nieuwsgierig om 't in 't echie te zien....mits het mogelijk is uiteraard.

Het gaat inderdaad hard, maar moeilijk te zeggen hoe lang het nog zal duren. Voor eind maart moet het toch wel lukken, in ieder geval zodanig dat de cabs kunnen intrekken. Overigens heb ik wel besloten het allemaal iets minder uitbundig te laten worden dan in eerste instantie gepland, kwestie van prioriteiten even gereset.
Maar de line-up zal nog steeds naar genoegen zijn, hoewel de candy cabs wel erg ondervertegenwoordigd zullen zijn. Zoals het er nu uitziet, zal de gameroom ongeveer 17 cabs bevatten, een voetbaltafelspel en mogelijk een flipperkast. Van de 17 cabs zijn er 2, maximaal 3 een japanse candy cab, de rest zijn classic cabs en één leuke generieke cab, met name voor wat MVS gaming (yep Arjan, die van jou, dat is toch zo'n handig cabje, met dat draaimechanisme) en Mame.
Dat betekent dus ook dat ik wel een paar cabs ga verkopen, waaronder een candy cab en mogelijk een Pac-Man en nog wat spul.
En het 'hokje' wat je op de foto's ziet wordt een plekje voor mijn gameconsoles en het geeft me ook de ruimte om hobby-gerelateerd te kunnen knutselen, repareren en zo. En er kan een koelkastje in staan, om de melk koud te houden!
Waar ik nu nog erg mee zit te worstelen is de inrichting, kleuren en zo. Ik laat in eerste instantie alle wanden en het plafond spac-spuiten, maar wit is zo wit. Dus alle wanden, maar het plafond waarschijnlijk ook, krijgen een kleurtje. En er moet natuurlijk neon in komen en andere arcade signs en zo. Kortom, het eidne nadert, maar er is nog genoeg te doen.

Ziet er allemaal zeer vet uit Erik, ik ben nog steeds erg benieuwd man. Wat je evt. met de muren kan doen is natuurlijk behangen met de print die je zelf wil, dat kan tegenwoordig heel mooi, ik had ook weleens van die Mario landschappen gezien, was echt supertof! Maar je kan natuurlijk in de retrostijl iets laten printen zoals zo'n sterrenhemel als die bepaalde cabs as bezel worden gebruikt. Nah ja de sky is the limit, maar maakt het wel enorm vet denk ik.
Anyway hoe dan ook met al die cabs erin wordt het sowieso vet, dus hou ons maar lekker op de hoogte

17 cabs is toch niet mis lijkt me zo! Sfeer is idd erg moeilijk om in te schatten, zou zelf eerst wat met verlichting en kleuren klooien en daarna de goede vloerbedekking en behang erbij kiezen. Ben benieuwd wat het wordt, en met tafelvoetbal woopte ik asses, vette toevoeging! Blikjesautomaat erbij met 10 soorten bier en je bent er wel toch

Jongens, weer even een update, in het Engels deze keer (ja sorry hoor, maar knip en plak is wel zo makkelijk).
On 16 February I finished all the woodwork in the gameroom. So, now it's time for the plastering of the ceiling and the walls, a job which I don't like to do at all (I think that it's a horror to get everything nice and smooth), so a professional will take care of this. All walls and the ceiling will be done with 'spachtelputz', something like this: http://www.alco-stucspuitwerk.nl/spachtelputz.htm And with a bit of luck this will be finished next week.
It will make the walls very strong, and easy to give them a color (or more colors) afterwards. I still don't know which color(s), but I like the seventies style of this (the orange color in particular)
But is you guys have better suggestions about colors or other decoration possibilities, then please spill it. For the floor I'm thinking about 'kliklaminaat', in black or another dark color. I'm not sure yet, though.
Anyway, here are some dull pics of how it is now:
In my mind I already have a picture of where to put which games, and the corner where the toolbox is will be the Japanese corner, with some great candy's, Japanese arcade art etc.

Today, 25 february !!!
Another day gone by, another progress report.
Today I had a professional 'spackspuiter' (what is the English name for it?) at my place who did the finishing of the walls and ceiling.
It's a process with 4 steps:
1. Covering all area's that don't need to be sprayed. This gave me a bit of a headache yesterday evening, because I only painted the woodden skirting along the ceiling and the window frames yesterday afternoon. The label on the paintcan mentioned 'dust dry after 3 hours'. Yeah, my ass, at 11 PM yesterday evening, 6 hours after I finished painting, it was still very, very sticky. So I pulled in an air heater that I recently bought, and fortunately this morning the paint was dry. Poeh!!

2. Spray the first layer, in phases, and smooth out every bump or hole that still exists (afmessen). This is a very time consuming job, because it has to be done very precisely. And it has to be done in phases, because if you first spray the entire room, you will find that the first part has dried out too much too be egalized.

3. After the first layer has dried out a bit, which only takes half an hour or so, the second layer is beeing sprayed, which will give a nice structure on the ceiling and walls. The thickness of the sprayed structure can be adjusted by using different nozzles on the spray gun. I choose a very fine structure, which makes the walls and ceiling look very smooth. The spraying of the entire room only took about 15 minutes:
4. Removing the protection tape on the skirting:

I don't have to paint the walls if I want them to be white, there is no shine through from the plasterboard. But I will paint some (parts of) walls in a colour, don't know how and which colors yet.

Mooi werk, hoor!
Misschien wel een leuk idee om 1 of 2 wanden in kleur te doen. Leuk tapijtje op de vloer, sfeerverlichting en gaan!
Het wordt tijd dat je kunt gaan genieten van al die prachtige aankopen van de afgelopen jaren, ckong!

Tapijtje zou het mooiste zijn, maar in mijn geval niet praktisch, vanwege de locatie van de schuur zal er steeds veel vuil mee naar binnen gelopen worden en dan is je mooie tapijtje al snel niet zo mooi meer. 
Ik neig nu meer naar een modernere, beetje industriële uitstraling, in plaats van een donkere jaren-70 ruimte. Ik vind het belangrijk dat de schoonheid van de cabs goed zichtbaar blijft en dan is een lichte ruimte beter. En kleur breng ik dan wel aan met de aankleding, posters, marquees als wanddecoratie, neon, etc. Bovendien, heb je wel eens eeen Pachinko in actie gezien? Nou dan heb je verder geen kleur meer nodig. Man, de verlichting van de Star Wars Darth Vader Pachinko is net een disco.
Maar ik ben er nog niet uit, dus wellicht denk ik er morgen weer anders over.

Van die UV-active vloerbedekking, samen met wat strategisch geplaatste blacklights. Veel gaver kan je het niet krijgen.

Weer een update van de voortgang, wederom in het Engels.
The last few weeks nothing has been done on the construction of the gameroom, because ….. that part is finished.
But that doesn’t mean nothing else has been done. In fact, I’ve been doing, and still am doing, what I hate a lot: painting woodwork and walls.
But I first has to select some colors, and I got my inspiration from these great arcades

So I choose the colors purple for the switch cabinet, orange for both sides of the two smaller dividing walls and night-blue for the other walls. I painted the window- and door frames with ‘Rambo Pantserbeits’ boerenwit. I like the color and I still had two pints of it. And because paint is very expensive nowadays, I just as well use it.
Did I already say that I hate paintjobs? I mean, everything takes so long. First you have to clean the woodwork, then you have to cover the walls because you don’t want to have paint on the walls, do you? Then you have to put a layer of primer on it, then sand it, then the first coat of paint, sand it again, then the second coat of paint. And then ….. remove the bugs and other insects which got stuck in the wet paint …. And start over again with the second layer, after sanding of course.
I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.
And about wall paint, never believe what shop assistants tell you. I bought my wall paint at the Praxis, and this girl told me that the orange paint would cover in one layer, one. I looked in here beautiful eyses and I believed here. Stupid me, of course it took 3 layers!!
But finally I got about halfway now, all the woodwork is done, as are the dividing walls (yeah I know, orange …. ) and the switch cabinet. So today I covered everything, including a stroke of the ceiling, and now I’m ready for the final paintjob: the four walls. This means about 60 m2. Times 3!!! Fortunately I have a week holiday this week, and who wants to enjoy the spring sun if he can enjoy some painting? :'(
Anyway, enough complaining, here are some fresh photo’s, taken today.

Dat schilderen is inderdaad een kwestie van tijd. Ik moest laatst ook een wandje schilderen thuis, en heb daar een potje Sigma verf voor gekocht. Dat dekt wel in één keer, maar kost ook het vijfvoudige van een Praxis potje.
